For me economics is a tool for understanding personal, business and national decision making. I enjoy presenting students with these dilemmas and teaching them how to use demand and supply, marginal analysis and economic theory to evaluate the decision before them.
The beauty of economics is no one ever asks,
“when will we use this in the real world?”
As much as possible we will use a flipped classroom model. Students will watch short videos and do readings before class to complete notes on terms and concepts. Class time will be for problems, discussions, case studies, simulations and current events. I homeschooled my son for four years and appreciate a mastery model of learning. While we are on a bit of a time line I want everyone comprehending the material before moving on.
